It was an opening weekend that SJax and the Rams would like to forget.

St. Louis lost its Week 1 matchup with Philadelphia in a 38-3 road blowout, and on a long day when the trailing Rams threw more often than not, Steven scarcely saw the football.

It was a long afternoon for SJax and company (courtesy of StLouisRams.com).

No. 39 finished with 40 yards on 14 carries, and caught three passes for 34 yards.

Rams’ offensive coordinator Al Saunders blamed himself for abandoning the running game, and vowed to maintain a better offensive balance next week against the New York Giants.

LOOKING STRONG
Still, despite toting the rock less than usual, S-Jax looked “fresh and quick” when he did touch the ball, according to Rotoworld.com.

NEXT UP
No. 39 and the Rams return home this week as they take on the defending Super Bowl champion New York Giants this Sunday, Sept. 28 at 3:05pm. Expect a big performance for No. 39.
