SJax vowed that he would play on Sunday against the Arizona Cardinals and he did, but it was not the performance he had wanted to give.
In a 34-13 home loss to Arizona, Steven was limited to 17 yards on seven carries. Afterward, he spoke to reporters about the game, and how he had played. As he explained to the Bellville News-Democrat:
"I hate to take an injury as an excuse…I didn’t play like myself. I’m very down right now. I did not help my team out."
"I am very disappointed and it’s something that I’m going to use as motivation for the rest of the season."
No. 39 entered the contest on its second play, but as Bryan Burwell of the Post-Dispatch noted:
Jackson was cleared to play during warm-ups, [but] it quickly became apparent that he was still hampered by his strained thigh muscle.
