What happens to an NFL running back from the end of one game to the start of the next a week later? That was the question that led to "A Week in the Life With Steven Jackson," a never-before-seen look into the life of an NFL player during the regular season.
Filmed during Week 11 in 2010-11, "A Week in the Life" begins with "Recovery." The episode begins with a devastating 23-20 overtime road defeat to the San Francisco 49ers, then transitions into the recovery process that starts immediately after the game has ended. Steven lands in St. Louis well after midnight, and then undergoes his regular post-game regimen: an ice bath in the basement training room of his house, following by a few short hours of sleep in a hyperbaric tent.
From Sunday through Tuesday, Steven focuses on physical and mental rehabilitation, putting the game that has passed behind him, and readying for the challenge of the Sunday that approaches.
