Steven was able to run during workouts on both Saturday and Monday, and the prospects of getting No. 39 back on the field for the Rams’ contest this Sunday against the Miami Dolphins look promising.

“He worked out good Saturday,” coach Jim Haslett said. “I actually was out there with him and did some things with him. I wanted to see him push it. He did a nice job, no setback on Sunday.”

GUARDED OPTIMISM
Haslett was encouraged by the progress SJ made over the weekend, but tempered his expectations for next week.

“I’m optimistic, but I’m not really sure what that means because we’ve said that for the last three or four weeks, but he did look good Saturday and [Monday] running,’’ Haslett said.

“We think he will be able to start practicing Wednesday,” he added.

WAIT AND SEE
Once we see what happens after SJax goes full-tilt on Wednesday, we’ll have a better idea of the chances of getting Steven on the field this Sunday.
